CAPE TOWN – President Cyril Ramaphosa will appear before the National Assembly on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, to respond to oral questions from Members of Parliament. The session is scheduled to begin at 14:00 at the Nieuwmeester Dome in Cape Town.

The engagement forms part of Parliament’s oversight responsibilities, providing an opportunity for members to question the head of state on key national issues. These sessions are intended to uphold accountability, promote transparency, and reinforce South Africa’s constitutional democracy.

Among the topics on the agenda are economic growth, job creation, and the rising cost of living. The President is also expected to address questions related to efforts to address race-based discrimination and the investigation and prosecution of crimes committed during the apartheid era.

In addition, the session will include discussions on South Africa’s diplomatic stance regarding the conflict in Ukraine and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

The oral question session is part of regular parliamentary procedures aimed at ensuring that the Executive remains answerable to the elected representatives of the public.
