The Deputies ratified the bill authorizing the loan agreement the loan agreement relating to the partial financing of the Project for the Reinforcement of the Interconnection of the Electricity Transport Networks in Madagascar PRIRTEM I on May 23, 2022.

Financial support in the amount of 363,688,233,000 Ariary or 81,300,000 Euros, which will be reimbursed over 25 years. The objective of the bill is to strengthen and interconnect the electric power transmission networks between Antananarivo and Toamasina. In addition to the power supply of the areas crossed, there will also be the installation of substations in the cities of Moramanga and Brickaville as well as the rural electrification of localities along the RN2.

During the debate, most of the parliamentarians welcomed the efforts made by the Minister of Energy and Hydrocarbons in their respective districts because despite the technical problems at the level of this department, the achievements are palpable.
