Members of Parliament, sitting in a joint session, recommended the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning increase the budget allocated to the development projects. This was raised when the Minister of Finance and economics Dr Uzziel Ndagijimana was presenting to Parliament the budget framework paper of 2022- 2023 fiscal year.

Minister Uzziel Ndagijimana said that the total resources estimated for the fiscal year 2022/23 will amount to Frw 4,658.4 billion reflecting an increment of Frw 217.8 billion or 4.7% increase compared to Frw 4,440.6 billion in the 2021-2022 revised budget.

Min. Ndagijimana stated the total grants are estimated at Frw 906.9 billion while loans are projected at Frw 651.5 billion and generally the domestic resources and loans comprise 80.5% of the Fiscal Year 2022-23 estimated budget.

On the expenditure front, Dr Ndagijimana told MPs that the recurrent budget is projected at Frw 2,796.1 billion of the total budget while the development budget and net lending are projected at Frw 1,862.4 billion.
