This morning, President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno of Chad received a delegation from the Pan-African Parliament, led by its President, Chief Fortune Charumbira. The delegation was in N’Djamena for Pan-African Women’s Day celebrations, which took place from July 31 to August 1, 2024, under the theme “Investing in Education: Securing the Future of Women and Girls in Africa.”
On August 5, the delegation met with President Deby Itno to share the outcomes of the event and seek his insights. Chief Fortune Charumbira praised Deby Itno for his leadership and his recent peaceful re-election. He also acknowledged Chad’s progress towards constitutional normalcy and extended best wishes for the upcoming elections.
