ANC Prepares for National General Council with Regional Deployments

The African National Congress (ANC) has announced a series of deployments for its National Executive Committee (NEC) members to special Regional General Councils (RGCs). These councils, which will be held across all provinces on Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31, 2025, are being convened in preparation for the upcoming National General Council (NGC).
NEC Members to Present Draft Documents
According to a letter from Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula, NEC members will be deployed to the special RGCs to present draft NGC documents. The purpose is to prepare regional structures for their participation in the NGC. The RGCs are scheduled to begin at 09:00 on both days, with the venues yet to be confirmed.
Road to the National General Council
The letter also states that the NGC Roadmap will be launched in the coming week. This roadmap will kickstart the official program leading up to the NGC, which is slated for December 8-12, 2025. The National General Council will be held in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
