The Minister highlighted the fractured state inherited in 1994 and the subsequent journey toward unity and development. President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address underscored the progress made over the past three decades alongside ongoing challenges.
Notable achievements were highlighted, including South Africa’s leading economy status in Africa, significant growth in gross tax revenue collection, and the expansion of the road network. Universal access to education and strides in breaking generational poverty were also celebrated, with the government’s investment in education outpacing several powerful nations.
