PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA TO ADDRESS NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON TRADE AND NATIONAL DIALOGUE

President Cyril Ramaphosa will appear before the National Assembly on Tuesday, 9 September 2025, to respond to oral questions from Members of Parliament.

The President is expected to brief MPs on recent engagement with the United States regarding a trade deal aimed at reducing tariffs. He will also outline government’s position on the future of the Post Bank and provide an update on the objectives of the National Dialogue.

In addition, President Ramaphosa will review South Africa’s G20 Presidency, highlighting progress under the theme: “Solidarity. Equality. Sustainability.”

Oral question sessions with the President are held at least once per quarter as part of Parliament’s accountability processes, in line with Section 92(2) of the Constitution, which requires the executive to report to Parliament on its functions and powers.
