**Iranian Foreign Minister Hosts Algerian Delegation**

On Sunday, January 21, 2024, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian welcomed Mr. Musa Kharfi and his delegation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Tehran.

At the start of the meeting, Minister Abdollahian expressed optimism about the continued role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening the relationship between Iran and Algeria. He highlighted Algeria’s significant achievements and its illustrious revolutionary history, noting the impact of the memoirs of the martyr Djamila Boupacha, which were well-known in Iran.

Minister Abdollahian also expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral relations and mentioned the upcoming visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Algeria, which he expects will enhance cooperation, particularly in the gas sector.

On the topic of the Palestinian issue, Abdollahian praised the Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, and the parliament’s support for the Palestinian cause, reaffirming Iran’s strong stance on the matter.

Mr. Kharfi, in his remarks, thanked the Iranian Foreign Minister for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from Algerian National People’s Assembly President Ibrahim Boughali. He also extended condolences for the recent terrorist attack in Kerman province and reaffirmed Algeria’s solidarity with the Iranian people, recalling Algeria’s own experiences with terrorism.

Discussing bilateral relations, Mr. Kharfi highlighted the positive recent developments, including discussions between Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during the 78th United Nations General Assembly. He emphasized Algeria’s readiness to further develop relations with Iran, particularly in agriculture, health, and energy, and reiterated Algeria’s commitment to advancing these ties for mutual benefit.

Mr. Kharfi also underscored Algeria’s strong support for the Palestinian cause, drawing parallels with Algeria’s own historical struggles and reaffirming the nation’s dedication to Palestinian solidarity.

Before concluding his visit, Mr. Kharfi signed the Golden Book at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, once again praising the robust relationship between Algeria and Iran.
