On Wednesday, 14 May at 15:00, the National Assembly will host a question-and-answer session with key Ministers from the Peace and Security Cluster. This session is part of Parliament’s constitutional oversight role and an essential mechanism for holding the Executive accountable.

The Peace and Security Cluster includes:

  • Minister in the Presidency

  • Minister of Correctional Services

  • Minister of Defence and Military Veterans

  • Minister of Home Affairs

  • Minister of International Relations and Cooperation

  • Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development

  • Minister of Police

These sessions offer MPs the opportunity to directly engage Ministers on matters within their portfolios. According to Section 92(2) of the Constitution, members of the Cabinet are accountable to Parliament for the performance of their functions—both collectively and individually.
