Parliament’s Presiding Officers Extend Eid al-Fitr Wishes to Muslim Community
The Presiding Officers of Parliament have extended their well wishes to the Muslim community as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement, Speaker of the National Assembly, Thoko Didiza, and Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, expressed their hope for a peaceful and reflective celebration.
Ramadan, a sacred period observed by Muslims worldwide, is dedicated to fasting, prayer, charity, and support for the less fortunate. During this time, adherents refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset as an act of devotion.
The Presiding Officers conveyed their wishes for a spiritually fulfilling Eid al-Fitr for the Muslim community.
